Storm of Nov. 18th, 2000
On the early morning of the 19th of November 2000 heavy thunderstorms associated with hail affected Bahrain. The daily rainfall total reached 57.6 millimetres which was a new record. Wind gusts reached 62 knots early morning that day, which was the new record for the highest gust ever recorded in Bahrain.
Radar images of the 18 and 19 November 2000, shows that the main activity was over Bahrain, East Coast of Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Gulf during the period 2326UTC to 0226UTC. The system was moving steadily eastwards. The pink and dark blue areas show intensity values between 25-50 millimetres per hour. The green, yellow and light blue show intensity values between 0.1-12.5 mm per hour.
The severe thunderstorms and associated strong winds of the 19th caused a great deal of damage, disrupted traffic and caused flooding in many locations. Electrical power and telephone lines were temporarily out of order in many locations on the island.

Rain Shower associated with thunderstorm affected Bahrain on 10th of Dec. 2000
In the evening of the 10th of December 2000 rain showers associated with thunderstorm affected Bahrain . The total rainfall was 6.5 mm.
Radar images saved on the 10th of December 2000 within different times starting from 16:49UTC , the first image shows that the intensity of the rain was mainly over Bahrain and Arabian Gulf especially the area with yellow color to the south west of Bahrain then the color was changed to dark blue.
This means that this area has been developing and intensifying.
In the third image the area clearly changed color to pink and this means more intensification and development has took place and became thunderstorm.
Heavy thunderstorm hits Bahrain on 18th of March,1998
In the 18th of March 1998 a heavy thunderstorms hits Bahrain. The visibility drop that night to 3 Km in Bahrain International Airport because of the heavy thunderstorm at that night and the wind gusted to 39 knots that night.
In the radar pictures that was saved in the night of the 18th of March 1998 you can clearly see the intensity of the rain which was mainly to the north, east and south of Bahrain, especially the pink color areas which are to the north and west of Bahrain which mean that the rain expected from those areas are to be 50 mm per hour.
